It's been a while since I watched it, but I always felt S1 of Buffy was very very strong; however, lately a lot of people are saying they felt it was wobbly.

To me, season 1 of Buffy was its weekest and well wobliest. It had some great episodes, but it also had some crappy ones. It was more of an intro to what would later be, then actually being the show if that makes any sense, and dollhouse reminds me of that. There were some really weak episodes, but some really strong ones too, and the plot is building. So we shall see.
