Photography Club

I'm no closer to understanding this forum name now than I was when we first put it in. But what it's for is thankfully simple. If you've got the creative bug and you want to share fruits of your buggery (...uhm) then here is where it goes. Poetry, fiction, drawing, photography, wallpapers, videos ... if you want to share it, we want to see it.

My hubby bought me a camera for Christmas too. It's a Canon Powershot S80. Don't ask me about specs. I only know it's 8 megapixel. So far I've only taken pictures of my cats & of the possum we caught in our basement.
Here are links to a couple...

If I start taking some better pictures, I'll post them.

The clarity of the pics is really good, especially with the closeup of the flower. I lot of cameras have issues with close-ups.

Also, I'll be getting to that Flash Tutorial soon-ish. I first have to story board it all out because I would like to hopefully use it in my portfolio so I need all the rough work and planning.

Cartwheel pics can be fun. This one I have here is of a friend doing one except we had some fun with time lapsed photography (leaving your shutter open longer). Most cameras can't do time lapsed unless they're SLR types. I never experimented much with time lapsed photogrpahy since it was somewhat costly and risky with film. However, after getting my digital camera, I spent a whole night (with some friends and a campfire) playing around.

ha, that picture is awesome. Yeah I accidently discovered the time-laps on my camera when I was trying to take a picture in low light without a flash. I have a picture of my dog that looks really cool.

The creepy abandoned mental hospital outside my school.

Wow, that is creepy looking. I love it how in #3 the building looks to be in very good shape, but then there's the shabbier looking chain link gate and older looking pillar. The only thing that I see wrong with the pics is that they seem to be a little washed out. Did you adjust the contrast after you photographed them?

Luna Park

Never heard of it, but those eyes are very creepy. By chance what's in through the gapping mouth?

Wow! Nice pics there!

For some reason I've never been able to take very good pictures of every day things. I guess I've just had too much experience with people that it's a mental roadblock.

I personally like the one with the stairs and the zig zag shadow.

I've recently posted some new pics too on my blog.

http://blog.dvq.ca

They're pics I took during the summer of last year, but I figured I'd should post them anyways.

As for the whole Photography Tutorial, I'm sorta working on it a bit in the near future. Again, I'm trying to make it in Flash as that way I can use it as a Portfolio piece (don't have anything in Flash really) so it'll take a bit. Just thought I'd say it's work in progress :)

Wanna trade? I suck at people. For some gods-only-know reason, people think ability-to-photograph-random-immobile-inanimate-junk equals l33t skillz at making anyone look GlamourShots pretty. ;_;

....I would also like to point out that my minolta does NOT have an LED screen on it (being 25yrs or so too old for the technology), so they can't see the pictures immediately after I take them. I have had to explain this in real life.

I dunno if I CAN trade skills, 'cause if I can't shoot people, so much for wedding and special occasion photography :P

And I understand what you mean. People have been using cameras for YEARS and most people still don't understand what the device in their hand really is.

Anywho, the "Shutterbugging" section of my blog has been updated with some new pics. Link ahoy!!
